Support Workers

The Hands-On Heroes

Sienna Martinez

Sienna

Support Worker · Criminology & Psych Student

"I joined Nuable in 2024 with a genuine passion for helping people reach their potential - and finding the joy in each step of the journey, not just the destination. I study Criminology and Psychological Science, which probably explains a lot about how I think, and I also work as a Learning Support Aide. A good shift is one where someone has a win and we both know it. Outside of work I play football, socialise with friends, and support Collingwood - loudly and without apology."

Jett Di Lizio

Jett

Senior Support Worker · Computer Science Student

"What I love about this work is helping people reach their goals - and the best days are the ones that don't feel like work at all. A walk, a drive, an activity we're both into. When it falls into a natural rhythm, that's when you know it's going well. Outside of Nuable I study Computer Science, support a student at a local high school, follow Collingwood and the NBA, and play golf. I also have a reliable habit of ending up wherever the sunset is good."

Alexia Barca

Alexia

Support Worker · Psychology Student

"I'm passionate about understanding behaviour and supporting people to express their interests and strengths - which is probably why Psychology felt like the obvious path. A good shift is one where I'm genuinely part of someone's world: shooting hoops, exploring their favourite shops, or trying something neither of us has done before. I also work as a Learning Support Officer. Grew up in regional Victoria, moved to Melbourne, and haven't looked back. Outside of work I do Pilates, bake, and find new restaurants I'll talk about for too long."

Ryan Stobaus

Ryan

Support Worker · OT Student

"I'm studying Occupational Therapy at La Trobe, so support work isn't just a job for me - it's where I learn what actually matters in allied health. A good shift is active and engaging: outdoors, playing sport, trying something new. Days where we're both getting something out of it. I'm pretty easy-going and have what I'd describe as a decent sense of humour. Outside of work it's footy, golf, and time with friends. I do have one firm personal rule: no Ferris Wheels. Non-negotiable, don't ask."

Giada D'Ercole

Giada

Support Worker · OT Student

"I have a genuine drive to help people build independence and live life on their own terms - which is exactly why I'm studying Occupational Therapy. A good shift, for me, is connection-led: a drive, time at the beach, a good chat and a laugh. The kind of day that doesn't feel forced. Outside of work I journal, socialise with friends, and follow Collingwood. I also live by 'all good things happen in time' - which gets tested regularly at half-time. Oh, and I'm fluent in Italian, which comes up more than you'd think."

Declan Wilmore

Support Worker · Personal Training Student

"I started support work in 2024 and was hooked pretty quickly - seeing the confidence that grows through good support is something I didn't expect to find this meaningful. I'm studying Personal Training, so active days are kind of my default: sport, outdoors, or keeping it relaxed with a coffee and a chat. Whatever helps someone feel comfortable enough to give things a go. Outside of work I'm into footy, fitness, golf, travelling, and watching NFL and basketball. My general philosophy is 'why not?' - which has led to both good decisions and some very long conversations about geography."

Alexandra Rokka

Alexandra

Support Worker

"I've seen firsthand how powerful the right support can be in someone's life - and once you've seen that, it's hard to want to do anything else. A good shift is one where someone feels comfortable, confident, and ready to give something a go. I think warmth and genuine care are the foundation everything else is built on. Outside of Nuable I do Pilates, surf, go on long walks with friends, and read. I also once lived and worked in a restaurant in Greece for six months - one of the best things I've ever done."

Bailee Ellis

Bailee

Support Worker · Nursing Student

"I'm studying nursing, so caring for people is basically my whole world right now - and I mean that in the best way. Support work sits alongside that naturally; it's all the same thing. A good shift is one built on quality time: heading to the gym, spending time at the beach, or just sharing good conversation and making someone feel genuinely understood. Outside of work I play netball, go to the footy, and take trivia nights very seriously. I'm also a Marvel fan - yes, all of them, no I won't apologise."

Carla Palazzolo

Carla

Registered Teacher · Learning Support Specialist

"I've spent seven years in primary school classrooms and I still get genuinely excited when something clicks for a student. I work with kids and young people of all backgrounds and abilities - the goal is always the same: make learning feel achievable and build real confidence along the way. Support work and teaching have more in common than people think."

Liam Tovey

Liam

Support Worker

"I'm passionate about disability support because I genuinely enjoy helping people and making a positive impact in their lives - and for me, it's the relationships that make it meaningful. Getting to know someone, understanding what they need and want, and building real trust is where good support starts. A good shift is one built on connection - keeping someone company, getting out and doing things together, and making the day feel easy. I'm positive, energetic, and bubbly, but calm when it counts. Outside of Nuable I'm into all sports, cooking, music, films, and the gym, and I also volunteer at an aged care home, spending time with a couple of the residents each week. I recently travelled to Kyrgyzstan - easily one of the best things I've ever done."

Ben Thomson

Ben

Co-Director · Support Worker · OT Student

"I started in disability support in 2023 and pretty quickly realised this was exactly where I was supposed to be. There's something about seeing the difference it makes - for participants and their families - that I can't quite explain but keeps me coming back. A good shift, for me, is one where a meaningful opportunity gets created and you can both feel it. As Co-Director, I get to think about how we build more of those moments at scale. Outside of work I'm at the gym, listening to music, or making the case that Hawthorn are going to have a big year."

Jackson Bailey

Jackson

Co-Director · Support Worker

"I've been in disability support for over a decade, which is long enough to know what good looks like - and long enough to want to build something that actually delivers it. That's why I started Nuable. A good shift is one built on real connection; active days, genuine progress, someone growing rather than just getting through. Outside of work I'm on a golf course, watching the Brisbane Lions from Melbourne like it doesn't hurt, or being followed around the house by Murphy - my dog, who absolutely runs the place."

Behind the Scenes

Cara Niel

Cara

Marketing Coordinator

"I look after the Nuable brand - social media, content, community, all of it. My job is to make sure what we do out in the world actually reflects who we are behind the scenes, which I think is the most important part of marketing. I love finding the story in things and figuring out the best way to tell it. Outside of work I'm into all things creative, and I take a good caption very seriously."

Leadership

Why We Built Nuable

Ben and Jackson, Co-Directors of Nuable

Nuable was founded on a simple belief: that good support should feel natural, not transactional.

We started in 2023 because we saw a gap — participants who deserved better matches, and workers who wanted to do meaningful work in the right environment. We built Nuable to bridge both.

Our standard is connection first. Every participant we support is matched with workers who genuinely fit their personality, goals, and lifestyle — not just whoever is available. We hold our team to that standard because we believe it makes all the difference.

For staff, that means working somewhere that values your wellbeing, invests in your growth, and trusts you to do your best work. For participants, it means support that feels like a friendship built on purpose.
